Propecia was developed to treat and prevent male pattern hair loss in crown area and hairline in men only. It should not be used by women or children because it may actually damage their health. Women who are pregnant should avoid any contact with Propecia, even in forms of crushed tablets, because its active ingredient is proven to cause abnormalities in the development of male baby’s sex organs. Propecia tablets have a special coating to prevent any contact with its active ingredient by anyone else than the person taking it. In case a pregnant woman comes in contact with the substance, you should immediately consult with a doctor.

Clinical studies have shown that about 2% of test participants have experienced sexual side effects. These included loss of sexual desire, erectile dysfunction and decrease in the amount of produced semen.

It is recommended that you take Propecia each day for 3 month to achieve some effects from taking it. If Propecia hasn’t shown any results within a year, it is likely that there won’t be any benefits from taking Propecia for you. This drug works in the long run and requires that you take it on a regular basis, or you will lose the re-grown hair within a period of 6 to 12 months. The results will vary like with any other medication, but don’t expect to grow back all the lost hair.
